(Headquarters: Minami-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture; President: Hidenori Takeshita) has revealed, in joint research with Kumamoto University, a national university corporation, that ammonium alginate, a type of dietary fiber derived from seaweed, has the effect of suppressing kidney inflammation and fibrosis that worsen due to excessive salt intake, in a unilateral renal ureteral ligation model mouse, which is one of the chronic kidney disease (CKD) models.

The results of this research were published in the international academic journal "Results in Chemistry" on April 24, 2026.
